Order Online or Call (251) 827-6594The late maturity (LM) concept produces hybrids (sorghum/sudangrass) 20-30 days later than conventional sorghum/sudangrass hybrids. This late maturity allows a wider window for harvest of high quality leaves before the boot stage is reached. This LM brown midrib hybrid has a greater IVTD value and higher crude protein. IVTD of this brown midrib hybrid was 20 percent-plus more than a commercial check in trials. This hybrid has a wide range of adaptation because of its drought resistance and yield of quality forage. It can produce as much as 30 tons of organic matter for the soil.
Latter BME Sorghum x Sudan prefers sandy loam soils. Ideal pH is between 5.8 and 7.0, with an ideal soil temperature of 65 °F. The seed is best planted between April and July, at a depth of 1/4”.
