We are now working with two more excellent forages, Antler Chicory and Boston Plantain. Both are known to be natural wormers, helping to control internal parasites. Both are very similar in growth, with the Plantain a little easier to establish and hardier than the Chicory. Plantain will also handle wetter soils in winter.

Antler Chicory is excellent for wildlife and livestock. This quality forage has protein ranging from 17 to 33 percent with digestibility being equal to or higher than alfalfa. It mines for minerals (potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, zinc and sodium), making these nutrients available when grazed. These nutrients are vital for wildlife and livestock health and performance.
Antler Chicory can handle any soil type, from extreme drought to extreme wetness. Ideal pH is between 5 and 8.2, with an ideal soil temperature of 45 °F. The seed is best planted during Spring or early Fall, at a depth of 1/8”. It will make a very deep taproot and persist for three to four years.
