Quail Haven Forage Soybean will provide 80 to 100 lbs. of Nitrogen to the soil during the Summer.
As a forage, its crude protein is 20 percent or more. It will produce between 500 and 1,500 lbs. of small, hard-coated soybeans per acre, providing feed for birds over the winter.
Quail Haven Forage Soybean prefers sandy loam soils. Ideal pH is between 5.8 and 7.2, with an ideal soil temperature of 65 °F or above. The seed is best planted between April and July, at a depth between 1/4" and 1 inch. It does not need any Nitrogen, however it will respond well to Phosphorus and Potash according to a soil test. Soybean inoculant will also help this plant. It will produce hard seed. The following Spring, light tillage will allow the soybean to germinate and grow the following year.
